Rural vs. urban Canada is the real story behind Newfoundland's quarrel. Now that Maple Leaf flags are flying again above provincial offices in St. John's, the Newfoundland-Ottawa spat has gone into remission. As heads cool, so may minds sharpen, thereby improving the prospects for a compromise.
