Canadians want to know how newcomers will be turned into Canadians

Canadians are saying they want to live in a country rather than a hotel. The idea of Canada as a hotel was minted a few years back by novelist Yann Martel after he'd won the prestigious Booker Prize for his novel The Life of Pi. Questioned by journalists about Canada, Martel described it as like a "great hotel."
