According to the polls, Canada is voting for change and is about to elect a Conservative government. Change is a very useful political proposition and is intrinsically appealing. The desire for change is a powerful drive, so much sometimes that it overrides the uncertainties of choosing such a path. Change can have very different meanings when in the context of a consolidated democracy such as Canada's, or by comparison, in other parts of the hemisphere.
