Italian Envoy Upset With Ottawa's Handling of Foreign Election Issue

Gabriele Sardo wishes the government had talked to Rome before opting to ban Canadians from election to foreign parliaments, while Joe Volpe questions the experiment's utility.

The federal government is expected to announce next week that Canadian citizens and permanent Canadian residents will not be allowed to run in foreign elections, sources say, which would make Gino Bucchino the first and last Canadian elected to the Italian Parliament.
