Harper Says All the Right Things on Latin America Trip

Prime Minister Stephen Harper's first visit to Latin America and the Caribbean last week signalled the beginning of a much-announced shift in the focus of our foreign policy to prioritize our ties with the Americas. Canada is once again looking south and this shift, with an agenda that acknowledges our opportunities and limitations within the hemisphere, are a welcome change. But in our rather uneventful political summer, the trip did not escape some controversy.
