Patrick O'Brien, the head media spokesman for the British High Commission, joined the Foreign Service in 1968. His first overseas posting was to Lagos, Nigeria, and subsequent assignments have taken him around the world: to Guyana, Belgium, Spain, throughout western Africa, and most recently to Canada. Mr. O'Brien has seen great change in the years since he began his travels, and continues to rise to the demands of an ever-evolving career as a senior diplomat. Recently, he agreed to talk about some of the places he has experienced while behind the wheel of his personal vehicle, a 1998 Land Rover Tdi 2500.
