The Ottawa Folk Festival is four fun-filled days of folks fondly focusing on folk music and the fans who love it. This year's line-up boasts dozens of acts, including several international artists such as the Hothouse Flowers, pictured here. The Flowers, who hail from Ireland, play music that is a melting pot of Irish traditional music, folk, rock and soul. What makes the Folk Festival notable is its independent, non-profit, volunteer-driven status. The festival keeps the spirit-- and the music -- of folk music alive, by keeping big business out of the equation. And folk music should always be about ordinary folks. See Listings for details.
