Liberals Should Stop Talking and Start Acting Like a World Leader on the Kyoto Protocol

Canadians care passionately about working with the international community to combat climate change. That's why Canadians pushed so hard to have our federal government ratify the Kyoto Accord. Yet, on the eve of the world coming to Canada to discuss the next steps the international community can take, our federal government has let Canadians --and the world-- down. Instead of following through on the 1993 Liberal Party promise to cut emissions by 20per cent below 1990 levels by 2005, the Liberal government has stood in the sidelines while Canada's emissions have shot up well over 20per cent.
