Mexican director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu considers his latest film Babel the final part of the trilogy he began with Amores Perros and 21 Grams, fleshing out his concepts of fate and interconnection. It's a trilogy in the loosest sense, sharing a story structure of parents and children rather than particular characters and overarching plot. You don't need to have seen the previous two films to appreciate this one.
