Name not a priority for Macedonian envoy

Macedonia's new ambassador to Canada, Ljuben Tevdovski, says he welcomes Canada's 2007 decision to recognize his country under its constitutional name in bilateral relations, but will not make the name debate a priority during his time in Ottawa.

Macedonia's new ambassador to Canada, Ljuben Tevdovski, says he welcomes Canada's 2007 decision to recognize his country under its constitutional name in bilateral relations, but will not make the name debate a priority during his time in Ottawa. Instead, he will work to strengthen economic ties with Canada, increase scientific and educational exchanges, and establish a close connection with the Macedonian diaspora.
