KIDNAPPING: DAY

96 It's Not Always Fear and Loathing in Baghdad

Published: Wednesday, 03/01/2006 12:00 am EST

It is day 96 of the captivity of Canadians Jim Loney and Harmeet Sooden in Iraq. The two men, along with Briton Norman Kember and American Tom Fox, are members of the Christian Peacemaker Teams. The small NGO, little known before the kidnapping, has worked in Baghdad for years. They worked during the Saddam Hussein regime, they were there during the U.S. invasion and they remain there to this day -- without body guards even after four of their members have been kidnapped.
