In less than three weeks Afghanistan will hold nationwide presidential elections, and already there is tremendous speculation as to what the outcome will mean to the future of that war-ravaged country. In anticipation of increased insurgent activity intended to disrupt the electoral process, the U.S. and many allied nations have deployed a surge of troops into Afghanistan.
