Libya as china shop: we broke it, we should buy it—we owe that to the Libyan people

Kerry declared ISIS genocidal, but Canada still needs to cautiously chart its own policy.

Last week, United States Secretary of State John Kerry made a public announcement that the actions of Daesh (ISIS) in Iraq and Syria can be formally declared “genocide.” According to Kerry, Daesh’s deliberate targeting of Yazidis, Shiites, non-fundamentalist Sunnis and Christians is designed to eliminate all but those who are true believers in the Daesh-proclaimed caliphate.
