Contrary to John Dirlik's contentions (RE: "Not a difficult answer," Aug. 29), the Jewish people have had a continuous and unbroken physical presence in the land of Israel for over 3,700 years. A land first promised to the patriarch of the Jewish people, the biblical Abraham, by God.
