Economic growth helps human rights protection

In the July 9 edition, you published an article by Bill Fairbairn, Tara Ward and Stacey Gomez (RE: “Honduras deal: Another example of Canada’s poor record on trade and human rights”). In this article, the authors state that having implemented the free trade agreement between Colombia and Canada, the CCOFTA, “in the midst of continued human rights violations and ongoing armed conflict that began five decades ago” speaks about the disinterest of the Canadian government on human rights concerns.
