April 30 doesn’t mean the same to all Vietnamese

Several weeks ago you ran a story describing how the Vietnamese Embassy in Canada was lobbying against Bill S-219, currently before the Senate (RE: “Vietnamese government fears ‘Black April Day’ bill would open old wounds,” July 30). This bill originally proposed to mark April 30 as “Black April Day,” but it is now reportedly being changed to “Journey to Freedom Day.”
