Two engines better than one

One the most important roles for Canada’s jets is to patrol the Arctic and the ocean approaches to North America for NORAD (RE: “Our jets deserve fair and transparent competition,” Oct. 28). Replacing our twin-engine CF-18s with single-engine F-35s puts our pilots at unnecessary risk as they fly over great expanses of water and ice.
