Commons Committee votes to cut Foreign Affairs' budget by a buck

Federal Opposition parties have united once again to protest the split of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, this time slashing $1 from the supplementary estimates. The Commons Foreign Affairs committee voted 7-2 in favour of a symbolic budget reduction to the department Foreign Affairs. The only Liberal MPs present at the time, Dan McTeague and Maurizio Bevilacqua, voted against it, but not before enduring a lengthy three-hour meeting that pitted the Liberals against the Opposition on almost every procedural detail.
