Russia Scrutinized at G8

When U.S. vice-president Dick Cheney raised concerns about the state of Russia's democratic system and accused it of using its vast supplies of oil and gas as "tools of intimidation or blackmail" on May 4, he voiced a concern that has since placed the world's largest country's economic and political practices under the spotlight.
