Sombre Mood at Lebanese Festival

Lebanese flags were flying everywhere as the joyful shrieks of children riding the carousel filled the air. Arabic music blared from large speakers as revelers sat down and savoured tasty morsels from Lebanon. A group of young women rehearsed a centuries-old dance as other revelers smoked sisha and enjoyed the warm evening sun. But behind all of the festivities was a veil of sadness you could see it in the distracted look in people's eyes. The inner landscape was very different from the outer.
