Liberian Mission Expected in Ottawa Soon

Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf says her country is prime for Canadian aid, wants foreign debts to be cancelled, and hints that an embassy will open in Ottawa again soon.

Foreign assistance to African countries has helped foster democracy and increase trade, but it should be directed to countries that have embraced democracy, transparency and accountability, said Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf during a speech in Ottawa last week.
