Open Skies Deal Needs to Be Green

The EU transport chief says environmental rules will be a challenge to a Canada-EU aviation deal, but one industry official worries Canada will naively agree to 'draconian' measures that could hurt trade.

MONTREAL-While the European Union's transport commissioner wants an open skies agreement with Canada finalized by next year, industry officials are pushing the government not to give in to the 27-country bloc's more stringent environmental policies during the negotiations.
