Rethink Afghan Opium Cull, Experts Say

Two World Bank advisers say poppy eradication methods in Afghanistan are bad for the security mission, but legalizing opium is not the answer.

Efforts to eliminate Afghanistan's opium industry through poppy destruction have not been well thought out, and this has affected development efforts and the country's stability, two experts said last week.
