Arctic Claims Will Be 'Messy'

The UN doesn't have a way to deal with the Arctic claims if the U.S. doesn't sign on to the Convention on the Law of the Sea.

If the United States doesn't accede to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, the UN panel charged with evaluating Arctic claims doesn't have a plan on how to deal with submissions by Russia, Canada or Denmark, a UN official said last week.
