Anti-Seal Hunt Supporters in Europe Don't Understand the Issue, says Fisheries Ambassador

With major legislation to ban the sale of seal products in Europe moving ahead, Embassy sat down with Canada's fisheries ambassador, Loyola Sullivan, to get the scoop on the tactics, arguments, and threats he is using to counter the momentum and keep the European market open. The Newfoundlander and former minister in Danny Williams's cabinet, who was appointed to his current post last year by the fisheries and foreign affairs ministers, wants the issue dealt with based on facts, not emotion, and knows the final decision rests with EU parliamentarians.
