Liberals to tie global to local in election campaign

Liberals are hoping to use Ignatieff's travels to their benefit.

When Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff addressed his caucus in Sudbury last week, he took on subjects that politicians usually avoid in Canadian elections. From the global economy to Canada's place in the world, Mr. Ignatieff invoked past Liberal statesmen and repeatedly raised international issues where he sees Conservative government weakness.
