At the Commonwealth Summit this weekend, Queen Elizabeth called for stronger action to address climate change—a request that failed to awaken Canada's prime minister. Reportedly, calls for action by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Commonwealth members, including at-risk small island states, were likewise given the cold shoulder and tired excuses.
