Holodomor display top of mind for Ukrainians

For the election, Embassy will be looking at some of the policies and issues affecting key ethnic communities.

More than 1 million Canadians are of Ukrainian descent, making them a potentially powerful community in Canada. However, their history in the country is long, with Ukrainians among the country's first major immigrant groups. This means that while they share a common heritage and history, and have risen through the 20th century to occupy some of the highest spots in Canadian society, they are a diffuse community with many interests and concerns.
