Shootings at the National War Memorial and on Parliament Hill left Ottawa shaken on Oct. 22. One member of the Canadian Armed Forces died, as did his shooter, and the downtown core was locked down for hours. This attack came two days after a man hit two Canadian soldiers with his car in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que., killing one.
