Chinese Leader's Visit Will Test How Martin Handles Tibet

The visit of China's president Hu Jintao will present a first of sorts. It will be the Chinese leader's first foray into North America where he'll get a glimpse, albeit a sheltered one, of the workings of our particular brand of Western democracy. And while it will not be the first time he's met Paul Martin, it will be the first opportunity for the prime minister to demonstrate to Canadians on our own soil what Canada's foreign policy in the region will be all about.
