Canada Should Help Save Darfur's Peace Talks

At the Global Conference on the Prevention of Genocide, held last month at McGill University in Montreal, I had the opportunity to discuss the ongoing genocide by attrition in Darfur with Salih Mahmoud Osman, a Sudanese Member of Parliament and heroic defender of human rights. Mr. Osman's message–conveyed on behalf of the victims of what the United Nations has called, "the greatest human rights catastrophe of the 21st century,"–was as chilling as it was unequivocal: "The time for Canada to act is now–tomorrow will be too late."
