Question what we're fighting for in Iraq

God knows we cannot be seen to be supporting Assad, and we sure as hell can’t bomb ISIS in support of Iran. But are the Kurds any better?

Last week, before the friendly-fire incident that killed Sgt. Andrew Joseph Doiron and wounded three Canadian special forces soldiers, newly-minted Foreign Minister Rob Nicholson made a covert visit to Iraq. This little junket came on the eve of Canada having to decide whether it will extend its six-month military commitment beyond the current April 7 deadline.
