Georgia, Moldova and especially Ukraine are, in their modern iterations, incapable of developing and implementing policies that can overcome the strong irredentist urging of the people affected.

The May 27 article "The lure of the Fatherland" had an incorrect date for the declaration of the State of Israel. It is 1948, not 1947.Borders, boundaries and frontiers are the names countries have long given to their edges indicating where their own dominion ends and where that of another begins. History is full of accounts of wars and skirmishes where countries have defended such edges or have crossed them in offensive action to achieve further territory and people.
