Twenty-five years ago, Canada ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, essentially a contract between the government of Canada and its citizens to give priority to children in all actions. It was a proud moment for Canada, signifying how we value children and believe their well-being and access to opportunities are a shared priority.
