Remembering Sept. 11

Published: Wednesday, 09/14/2005 12:00 am EDT

The hope of U.S. Ambassador to Canada David Wilkins is that the security barriers surrounding his embassy in downtown Ottawa will someday come down, and visitors can freely walk through the front door. He made remarks during a ceremony inside the perimeter, marking the fourth anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the United States. Prime Minister Paul Martin attended the event on Sunday, paying homage to those who lost their lives, including 26 Canadians.
