Lack of UN Reform

Prime Minister Paul Martin delivered a scathing criticism of the UN last week, urging world leaders to match promises with action on global problems. At the UN summit, Mr. Martin chided world leaders for failing to enact a more ambitious reform policy. World leaders were generally positive about the outcome of the UN summit, but Mr. Martin was not. But while urging world leaders to give more aid to the developing world, Mr. Martin came up short on calls for Canada to increase its funding to fight global poverty.
