Called to Witness

Former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic, defending himself at his trail for war crimes, called James Bissett, Canada's former ambassador to Yugoslavia, to the witness stand. Mr. Bissett said the international community could have done more to avoid the collapse of Yugoslavia during the 1990s. Prosecutor Geoffrey Nice presented Mr. Bissett as unreliable and pro-Serbian.
