Rock to Investigate Child Abuse

Allan Rock, Canada's outgoing Ambassador to the UN, has been appointed to lead a fact-finding mission to Sri Lanka to investigate allegations the separatist Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam are continuing to recruit and use child soldiers. Mr. Rock will step down as ambassador on June 30 and, in his new position, will serve as Special Adviser to Radhika Coomaraswamy, the UN Special Representative for Children Affected by Armed Conflict.
