Baker Criticises Arbour

Israeli Ambassador to Canada Alan Baker has dismissed a suggestion by Canadian Louise Arbour, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, that Israel and Hezbollah may face war crimes charges for their respective failure to protect civilians. Mr. Baker said on July 21 that Ms. Arbour is jumping to conclusions and does not understand the situation there. UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has supported Ms. Arbour's warning.
