Ratify Law of Sea: Harper to U.S.

Speaking in Iqaluit, Prime Minister Stephen Harper urged the United States to ratify the United Nations' Law of Sea treaty, which would acknowledge Canada's sovereignty over its Arctic coastal waters. The treaty recognizes a 370-kilometre exclusive economic zone off a country's coast. Although 150 nations have ratified it, the United States has not.
