PQ Candidate Under Fire

The Parti Québécois's candidate in a Montreal riding has come under fire from a Rwandan association in the city for questioning the events of the 1994 Rwandan genocide. Robin Philpot, a journalist, wrote in his 2003 book, It Didn't Happen Like That in Kigali, that official accounts of 800,000 Tutsi murders are exaggerated and has since rejected the use of the term 'genocide' to describe the events.
