Scholarship for Female Muslim Reporters

Ottawa-based engineer Wael El-Aggan and his family have set up a scholarship at Carleton University for Muslim women studying journalism. The family's $50,000 contribution was matched by the Ontario Trust for Student Support to create an annual $4,500 bursary to be awarded for the first time this fall. The El-Aggans have also set up a scholarship for Muslim students to study human rights.
