Ottawa's tennis-playing diplomats and friends from DFAIT are gearing up for the first tournament of the Liddar Cup, named in honour of the man who initially organized the diplomatic tennis league, Bhupinder Liddar. The tournament takes place this weekend at the Rideau Tennis Club where a selection of foreign ambassadors, diplomats, their wives and Canadian government officials will compete for the Bronze, Silver and Gold cups. Mr. Liddar is posted to Nairobi, Kenya as Canada's deputy representative to the UN Environment Program.
