Manley Up the Mountain

Published: Wednesday, 03/21/2007 12:00 am EDT

Former foreign affairs minister John Manley is in the midst of a nine-day hike up Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. According to his blog on the Globe and Mail's website, Mr. Manley, said he's rather be climbing a mountain than presenting the federal budget, which he did when he was Finance Minister in 2003. Mr. Manley, who was also deputy prime minister under Jean Chrétien, is taking part in the climb for CARE Canada to raise awareness about climate change.
