Red Cross Shuts Burma Offices

The International Red Cross has closed two of its five field offices in Burma following restrictions placed by the Myanmar government on Red Cross staff's field operations and visits to detainees. Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister Peter MacKay called the restrictions "unacceptable" and urged the Burmese government to allow the Red Cross to resume its work without hindrance.
