Weather Slows Border Visits

Bad winter weather is blamed for the record drop in cross border travel between the U.S. and Ontario in January. Americans traveling by car to the province slumped to under 1 million trips, the lowest level since record keeping began in 1972, according to Statistics Canada. The agency said "heavy snowfalls, freezing rain and extreme cold advisories" snarled American car traffic to Ontario.
