Soldiers Killed by Friendly Fire

A newly released U.S. army report confirmed that Canadian soldier Robert Costall was killed by friendly fire in southern Afghanistan in March 2006. Pte. Costall and Vermont National Guard Sgt. Tom Stone were shot from behind by U.S. troops who opened machine-gun fire on the two during an insurgent attack. The report doesn't say whether anyone has been disciplined as a result of the deaths.
