Collecting Medals

Canada clinched its first medal in swimming at the Pan Am games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil yesterday when Keith Beavers of Orangeville, Ont., won a bronze in the men's 400 individual medley yesterday. Mr. Beavers completed the race in four minutes, 19.01 seconds. In rowing, Chris Jarvis of Victoria, B.C., and Dan Casaca of Toronto won gold, beating the United States and Brazil. In the women's pairs, Zoe Hoskins of Edmonton and Nathalie Maurer of North Vancouver won silver.
