A former Slovenian minister who fled to Canada to escape a jail term in his country is likely to be sent back, the Canadian Press quoted Slovenian officials last week. Boris Sustar, 45, is wanted in Slovenia for accepting kickbacks when he was a deputy minister from 1997 to 2000. He was first arrested in 2001 and sentenced to three years in jail. However, the prosecution appealed the sentence and he was handed a six-year term. Canada and Slovenia have no extradition agreement, but officials from both countries are discussing possibilities for his removal.
