Aussie Rules Considered

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission is considering changing rules on media consolidation in Canada by using a point-based system introduced by the Australian government last year, the Globe and Mail reported Monday. The decision to examine new Canadian rules came in the wake of several recent takeovers, including CTVglobemedia Inc.'s purchase of CHUM Ltd. for $1.4 billion.
